Name: Josef T.
Mother tongue: German
Occupation: Goldsmith
My object: school case
My story about it:

I was born in Véménd. When we were forced to leave, I took this case with me, filled with school books, the Bible, a little wooden cross, some tools and a picture to remember. First they relocated us to Eastern Germany. I spent five years in a German town called Frauenstein in the Ore Mountains. We then fled via Berlin to Western Germany and lost everything for the second time. But, the case was very dear to me so I took it with me again to Western Germany. We built our life here in Ulm all over again, made friends and a new home. I have been living in Ulm since 1953.
