Name: Katalin D.
Mother tongue: Hungarian, Polish
Occupation: Culture educator, retired
My object: Friends in time of need. Polish refugees in Hungary 1939 – 1945
My story about it:

My father was one of the soldiers who fled. History has given us a new home. My attachment to Poland has been shaped by my entire surroundings: learning Polish as a child, frequent visits to the former home country, relatives and friends, and, of course, the nationality. I wear my Polish grandfather’s engagement ring which dates back to 1912 and the signet ring of my Polish grandmother’s family.
