My object: jug
My story about it:
One beautiful summer’s evening, I arrived at Pécs, rather exhausted, and asked a charming elder gentleman for a youth hostel. This got him into trouble; he went up and down the square, asked this person, asked that person, always keeping in mind my lean purse, and he did not dare to recommend a hotel. The sun gradually made way for the moon, but still no youth hostel could be found. Therefore, he plucked up his courage and invited me to stay at his house. I took a deep breath and agreed. We had a wonderful evening, at first with his wife, then more and more family members joined us: the son, the daughter, the son-in-law, the grandchild. They brought in plates with plenty of food, mugs, and poured juice and wine from jugs. The next day, I bought this jug in Pécs – it epitomizes a very impressive experience of Hungarian hospitality.
