My object: spaetzle scraper and board
My story about it:
My grandmother was extremely proud of her ability to produce spaetzle very fast and in great quantities. She tried to teach me how to do it. I do not reach her speed (not even 1/10 of it); nevertheless, I am convinced that the “scraping of spaetzle” is an important part of the Swabian cuisine and culture which connects me with my grandmother. My family keeps to this old and time-consuming way of preparation – despite the many kinds of convenience food which you can get nowadays.
