Name: Gert K.
Mother tongue: German
Occupation: Engineer, now retired
My object: walking cane
My story about it:
I bought this walking cane in South Africa in 1970. At that time, South Africa was still ruled by Apartheid. The cane was made by a local who offered it on the side of a road. Still real handicraft. Today, many things are produced in factories in foreign countries but still sold as handicraft. At least, they try to reintegrate the population.
