My object: souvenir from Rome
My story about it:
My husband and I spent New Year’s Eve 1992 in Rome. It was our first trip to Italy, our first and at the same time our last coach trip. On our way to Italy, we stayed overnight in Malcesine and had a two-hour stopover in Florence. In Rome, we had an excellent tour guide who showed us a great part of the city and explained very well what we saw. The information was still in our minds when we revisited Rome 16 years later, this time without travel group, of course. The first time we went to Italy we were impressed, but the second time we were enraptured. The souvenir we brought from our first trip has the shape of an antique jar. It plays a great part in our memory. It does not only remind us of facts and revives our experiences, but, most of all, it evokes the feelings we had during this great experience. Even though nowadays, we would most certainly not buy the piece again.
