Name: Marion S.
Mother tongue: German
Occupation: Survivalist
My object: tobacco and tobacco pouch
My story about it:
It is a Polish tobacco pouch, made by a Polish craftsman, bought at the Living Museum Düppel. Polish craftsmen showed us many different kinds of traditional handicraft there. My paternal grandfather migrated from Poland. Unfortunately, I never met him. Nevertheless, I am happy to own a tobacco pouch made by a Polish craftsman. I have got tobacco in my other hand. It is very important to me – not for smoking but for assisting with prayers, for example at a tree. I use it as a sacrifice, in order to give something back to Mother Earth. This is a persistent native American tradition which I feel very close to.
